Olivet James-Robinson was born in Walton, County and raised in Social Circle, Georgia.  She and her husband, Dr. Gus R. Robinson, have one daughter, Olivia Moena.  Dr. James-Robinson is a graduate of the Social Circle High School, the Fort Valley State University, and the University of Georgia.  She worked in Walton, Greene, Baldwin, Jasper, and the Oglethorpe County School Systems respectively.  She retired from her educational career with 30 years of creditable service. Dr. James-Robinson is a proud and involved member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church in Social Circle.  Additionally, she is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (Iota Psi Omega Chapter of Athens, Georgia), Habitat for Humanity (Greene County), Girl Scouts of America (Historic Georgia), Georgia Retired Educators Association (Greene County), and Lions International (Oglethorpe). Dr. James-Robinson states that she is pleased to be a part of the Victory Train and she encourages others to get onboard, there is room. We are headed to a great destination: educational equity and literacy for all.
